The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s Advisory Board earlier today held a special press conference to address allegations of conflict of interest involving MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki.
This comes after Professor Edmund Terence Gomez resigned from the MACC’s Consultation and Corruption Prevention Panel last week, in protest over what he claimed was inaction to address the allegations.
However the Advisory Board has concluded that there was no criminal conduct or conflict of interest on the part of Azam Baki. Will this be enough to reassure the public about the integrity of the MACC?
