We are pleased to release our First Quarterly Report for 2026, detailing our ongoing work to advance transparency, integrity, and accountability across Malaysia.
Here is a brief overview of our key pillars, milestones, and advocacy initiatives from Q1:
- Institutional Reform: We engaged with the Malaysia Accountability Framework task force and participated in the inaugural Whistleblower Protection Committee meeting. Our team also published critical reports targeting structural weaknesses in MACC oversight and examining the Government Procurement Act.
- Environmental Governance: We launched a landmark research report analyzing emissions governance and climate commitments within Malaysia’s steel industry.
- Civil Society & Regional Outreach: We hosted essential public forums and roundtables across Sarawak and Sabah to reinforce public complaints frameworks and procurement safeguards.
- Diplomatic & Educational Engagement: We strengthened international cooperation through strategic dialogues with the UNHCR , the New Zealand High Commission , and the Australian High Commission. We also welcomed the Malaysian Law Student Network to cultivate the next generation of governance advocates.
Despite facing challenging police investigations that impact free expression and civil society space, C4 Center stands firm in its independent, non-partisan mission to protect the public interest.
