The Youth Wing of Parti Keadilan Rakyat chief Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir called for the cessation of political appointments in government-linked corporations (GLCs) and said GLCs should be able to operate professionally without any interference by any political factions.
“The practice of political appointments is an act of corruption because it is perceived to be a move of gaining political support without regarding the professional qualification of the appointee. This culture of appointing political figures to assume leadership within the GLC board of directors has to end immediately in order to revive investor confidence once and for all,” Akmal Nasrullah said.
