BUSINESS INTEGRITY PROGRAMME OFFICER

Job Description:

Corruption constitutes a major barrier to economic development and significantly undermines the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. C4 Center strives to change the culture of governance in Malaysia at every level, through increased awareness, participation, and compliance of good governance practices.

The UNECE has published a standard on corruption in Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) to help to catalyze countries’ efforts to strengthen transparency, accountability and effective governance of investment in public infrastructure and service delivery. In this era of open markets and financial freeflows, it is extremely important that the nexus between politics and business are conducted with a high standard of integrity without corruption.

We require a fast-learning and highly adaptive individual with relevant experience to seize the initiative for advocacy in business integrity in Malaysia. This individual will oversee and conduct C4 Center’s research and advocacy in reforming the areas of standards compliance, procurement processes, access to information, transparency in due diligence, open budgeting and open contracting in order to address the root of money politics in Malaysia.

In this portfolio, C4 Center intends to speak out to working adults, professionals and urban communities, and to engage them with public initiatives both from government and civil society to promote the above.

Project Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a 2 year action plan to roll out creative initiatives– including quality research, build engagement platforms and tools for actionable change on budgetary and procurement practices, as well as effective access to information with people-centred public policy in mind.
  • Spearhead regular events to target community participation, civic empowerment and knowledge-building sessions to spread awareness on contemporary issues and anti-corruption efforts.
  • Seize opportunities to build networks at all levels within the business community, political parties, government, international organisations, and other stakeholders.
  • Promote and link the human rights and anti corruption framework in the context of democracy and the economy.

Requirements:

  • Preferably 3-5 years work experience, preferably in the field of public policy, business integrity regulation, or due diligence research.
  • Must be proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and have good team spirit.

SPECIAL PROJECTS OFFICER

Job Description:

With the new change in government, Malaysians have demonstrated their resolve in rejecting corruption within our public administration, and are demanding greater accountability and responsiveness on issues of public policy and public interest. Pakatan Harapan is making fast moves to reform the system.

C4 Center’s primary advocacy focus is good governance and anti-corruption. In this new political environment in Malaysia, we need to ensure that the Pakatan Harapan Government remains true to its anti-corruption and democratic-spirited promises. The wider public must be kept aware of continuing developments, while new democratic tools in the fight against corruption, graft and cronyism must achieve their maximal impact within society.

We seek a motivated, and creative individual to drive our fight against corruption with the urban youth, young working adults and semi-urban communities. This individual needs to create, support projects in the scope of access to information, transparency in procurement processes, open budgeting and open contracting which addresses the root of money politics.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and implementing a 2-year action plan to roll out creative public engagement initiatives. This includes building creative platforms and tools to deepen civic participation in shaping shape public policy that is people-centred, and strengthening engagement with C4 Center’s research and legal capacity.
  • Organise and support regular events, targeting volunteer participation, youth empowerment and knowledge building sessions to spread awareness on anti-corruption efforts.
  • Seize opportunities to build networks at all levels within civil society, political parties, international organisations and other stakeholders.
  • Promote and link the human rights and anti corruption framework in the context of democracy and the economy.

Requirements:

  • Preferably 1- 3 years work experience, preferably in the field of public policy and has experience working with various sectors.
  • Good event organization and communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia
  • Must be able to work independently and have good team spirit.
