Malaysia to have its own Ombudsman, replacing Public Complaints Bureau

September 22, 2018 (PH)

The Public Complaints Bureau (PCB) or Biro Pengaduan Awam which manages public complaints would be known as Ombudsman Malaysia.

The Ombudsman Act will be drafted to ensure the independence of Ombudsman Malaysia
In principle, the federal Pakatan Harapan government agreed to form it based on the National Anti-Corruption Plan (NACP) 2019-2023.

It will focus on the federal government and its agencies to hear and investigate cases of maladministration.
